In the heart of the working class 16th District, not too far from the Ottakringer brewery, is this unique and thoroughly Viennese combination of tennis courts, a beer garden and würstelstand (sausage kiosk). Encounter a complete absence of social and athletic pretension, as well as “whites-only” exclusivity (by this, we do mean tennis clothes). Looking at the guests in the garden, though, only a few look like they were, or will be swinging the raquet.
Coming here is the most authentic way to enjoy Ottakringer beer. Stand by the courts and get a crash course on how to curse in Viennese slang. Proceed to the heurige (wine tavern), Buschenschank Huber, afterward to continue your course on Ottakring social anthropology.
