Housed in a cabin-like structure with kitschy flying pigs on its facade, An-Do stands out—and it’s not just because it’s one of the newer, modern cafes on the Yppenplatz, an area filled with Mediterranean al fresco dining areas during summer months. It’s also because its cuisine, like its older sister restaurant Do-An, is surprisingly fresh, new age and vegan-friendly.

Turkish-influenced continental food, like the “exotic salad”—chicken with avocado—various breakfasts and sandwiches like the lauded “tofu stacker,” pack in a healthy punch to typically meat-heavy Austrian fare. With a more homespun vibe than its Naschmarkt counterpart, An-Do’s features a rotating display of artwork and a prime location at the end of Brunnenmarkt—itself a cheaper version of the Naschmarkt.Quote_transparent
