While hotel dining is generally not a priority on our list, Unkai Sushi Bar is one major exception. Rising above all other sushi bars throughout Vienna, Unkai is the city’s best sushi restaurant, bar none.
The name, Unkai, meaning “sea of clouds” in Japanese, describes the sprawling city view affording by the sushi bar’s sister restaurant, located on the hotel’s seventh floor. Chef Hiroshi Sakai delicately prepares sushi, sashimi and traditional dishes, all of which have gained him significant recognition from Gault Millau and a Trophee Gourmet.
