While this sprawling park, which was originally the hunting grounds for Emperor Ferdinand I, has various entrances, the Lainzer Tor is just a few minutes from downtown Vienna.
This huge park offers different walking paths for every mood—meet Bambi at the “Wienblick,” a meadow that overlooks a panoramic view of Vienna or find magic mushrooms at the “Hubertuswarte,” a legendary hang-out spot which is surrounded by the abundant foliage of the Wienerwald forrest. At “Hermesvilla” you can relax in a historic ambience walking through the residential summer-castle, while perusing the changing seasonal exhibitions.
Take care of your picnic basket, wild pigs are hungry!
