<description_plain>Galerie Steinek is one of an impressive line-up of galleries on Eschenbachgasse, a quiet street just off the Ring, Vienna’s busy thoroughfare. It is a stone’s throw from numerous art institutions such as the Museumsquartier, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Secession and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, and in easy walking distance to the plethora of design stores and boutiques on Gumpendorfer Strasse.

Founded in 1982 by Silvia Steinek and her father Heinrich Steinek, the gallery represents Austrian artists such as Julius Deutschbauer, Ilse Haider, Matthias Herrmann and Gudrun Kampl, as well as internationally renowned artists like American conceptual artist Robert Barry, video artist Tony Oursler and Belgrade-native Dejan Kaludjerovic.</description_plain>
