Veteran beat-mulchers Autechre are celebrating the release of new album ‘Oversteps’ with a lengthy tour of Europe. From their early ‘90s IDM, with its cavernous 606 snare-snaps and neon bass-lines, through to their current output of unfathomably capitulating residues of polygon polyrhythms, the trusy Mancunians have remained one step ahead of the hoards of imitators (yes, we mean you Radiohead) that can always be picked out at live shows wondering with boggle-eyed confusion as to quite how they perform such precise geometrical surgery on their sound sources.

Put simply, Autechre are the most advanced and forward thinking dance act that has probably ever existed.
