In terms of electronic music, Laurent Garnier has seen it all: from the tracksuit and tie-dye explosion of acid house at Manchester’s famed Hacienda, through to the inception of his massively influential FNAC Dance Division label in the early ‘90s and the emergence of the Detroit prototype for synthetic dance music that he became so closely affiliated with.

100,000 groove famished party-heads saw him perform at the inaugural Techno Parade in Paris in ‘98, the same year that he collected the “Victoire De La Musique” award for his album 30 (1997). Recognized as one of France’s most successful electronic music exports, his performances at almost every major festival on the circuit have earned him a genuine international pedigree (which was perhaps best represented by an appearance on John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 show back in ‘94). Throughout his career, like a musical Moses, he guided other promising techno DJs and producers out of the safety of the underground scene toward a wider and more fertile audience both in France and around the world.

Last year’s album Tales Of A Kleptomaniac saw him spreading his stylistic wings to incorporate a wider range of BPMs from bouncing hip-hop vibes to fast-lane drum and bass. Tonight’s show is likely to be overflowing with fans. We recommend you get there nice and early to avoid disappointment.Quote_transparent
