Celebrate 100 years of Austria’s most important pop-culture magazine The Gap.. On hand to lead the rapturous applause (and possibly steal some thunder) will be none other than Superproducer and all-round musical maestro Gonzales.
The expat Canadian more widely known for his production on Feist’s last album and his collaborations with Peaches (check this out), Gonzales is a performer in his own right, a multi-talented musical virtuoso who released the Soft Power disc in 2008, a tribute to soaring soft-rock records of the ‘70s and ‘80s-the genre that usually lurks under the “guilty pleasure” banner. Think sublime, chest-beating power-balladry, shamelessly dripping with piano and sax solos, bells and handclaps and ultimately surging towards some climactic key changes.
