Stanley Kubrik’s A Clockwork Orange (1971) is such a classic that we are at a loss for words—our basic message: if you haven’t seen this film, your cultural knowledge is at a loss and you must go, now. This disturbing yet beautiful film creates haunting images by using an overture by William Tell, Malcolm McDowell’s diabolic smile and moments of tension that seem to never end.
Follow the pleasures of Alex DeLarge (McDowell), which include rape, classical music and extreme violence. We suggest you eat dinner before the film as this is a true appetite killer.
For Design Week all screenings are free, open to the public and preceded by an introductory talk.
